Students K-6 are invited to a special program.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, Arlington Public Library and Smithsonian Libraries and Archives are partnering on a month-long exploration of 12 extraordinary American Women through handcrafts, music, books, and more. Participation is easy:

1. Craft Pickup: Each week of March, pick up a themed Women's History Month craft bag at our regularly scheduled Take and Make distribution (while supplies last). The bags you pick up on Monday or Tuesday will correspond to the following Thursday meetup.
2. Thursday Meetup: Join us online to craft together, listen to music, and get special Smithsonian-grade information about these fascinating American women. Our online event will focus on different themes each week:

You can take a deeper dive on them through Smithsonian Library and Archive’s American Women: Extra and Ordinary collection as well as through these books from the Arlington Public Library.

Themed craft bags for this series are available while supplies last. Registering for this event does not guarantee you a craft bag but helps us prepare. You do not need to participate in the craft to join the event.

Registration is required. Patrons who have registered will be sent a link to join the event.
