Sidney Poitier made film history when he became the first Black actor and the first Bahamian-American actor to win the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in 1963's "Lilies of the Field."
About the Film: A small town Southern sheriff finds himself in an uneasy alliance with a big-city black homicide detective as they investigate a murder.
