Calling all young writers, both members of the LGBTQ community & allies

Come celebrate Pride month with a poetry series, each Thursday of June with Arlington’s Youth Poet Laureate! Whether you’ve never written a poem before or you’ve been writing since 3rd grade, anyone aged 13-19 is invited to learn a bit about LGBTQ Pride of the past and present, and use these lessons to fuel our writing. In this workshop series, we will learn about the poetic devices & form used in each piece, discuss how these elements reflect queer identity, and use them to express our own identities through writing. We will explore both page poetry and spoken word by LGBTQ poets, including talented youth poets who demonstrate that age does not limit craft nor creativity!
