Though burial used to the be only option for “body disposal,” cremation is now the most popular option in the United States. This class will provide an overview of the legal and religious dimensions of these and lesser known options, such as green burial and alkaline hydrolysis.

Kathleen Garces-Foley, Ph.D. is a Founding Director of Arlington's Coalition to Improve Advanced Care, published author, and professor of religious studies at Marymount University specializing in contemporary religious trends.
