Learn the basics of beekeeping associated with inspecting and managing bee hives.

Liz and Tim Dennison of Secret Garden Birds and Bees will teach the basics of beekeeping. The presentation will include information on information on how to get started in beekeeping, the environmental benefits of beekeeping, and information for homeowners who need to remove beehives from their home or property without harming the bees in the process. They will also discuss the Secret Garden pollinator meadow garden that provides foraging for their bees, native bees, butterflies and a wide variety of insects.

Liz Dennison is a Virginia Master Naturalist and a member of the Loudoun Beekeepers Association. She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, their two dogs, three parrots, three raptors, six chickens, and about 150,000 honey bees.
