About the Book

From media critic and reporter Brooke Gladstone, cohost of public radio’s On The Media, an incisive and fascinating investigation of the nature of reality. Why do facts do little to change an individual’s closely-held idea of reality? How does the media reinforce these blind spots? And how did our lack of consensus about reality pave the way for a new political era, one in which subverting truth—aka lying—has become an act of political power?
