History, Heritage, and Memory in Times of Climate Change

21st Century climate change is having irrevocable effects not only on global ecosystems, weather patterns, and biodiversity but also on the planet’s cultural diversity.  Anthropologist Susie Crate will share her work with Viliui Sakha of northeastern Siberia, Russia to illustrate the power of the anthropological toolkit to not only document human-environment interactions but also to facilitate community-based knowledge and ongoing adaptation to unprecedented change.
