"The Righteous Mind: Why Good People are Divided by Politics and Religion"

Join Arlington County Board members Libby Garvey and Christian Dorsey and Crystal City BID President Angela Fox for a robust conversation focused on the core principles and lessons outlined in the book “The Righteous Mind," by social psychologist Jonathan Haidt.  

Christian, Libby and Angela will explore different intuitions about right and wrong, regardless of an individual’s personal philosophical values. The discussion will also highlight the author’s views on why each side is actually right about many of its central concerns. 

We encourage everyone to read the book in advance, which will provide insights for understanding the importance of human cooperation, as well as the curse of our eternal divisions and conflicts.
