Meet other Game Masters and players and share stories and materials from your favorite quick adventures!

Table-top role-playing games (TTRPGs) can take many forms, but no other format is as malleable and varied as the ‘one-shot.’ Usually aiming to be completed in a single session, one-shots embody both the creativity and the inclusive spirit of contemporary TTRPGs. However, while the condensed nature of these games can make them easy to plan and to organize, they can sometimes be tricky to run.

This event is geared towards those who have experience running/playing these kinds of games. Join us to share your tips, tricks, and favorite rulesets for getting a group of players immersed in an adventure quickly without sacrificing depth or clarity. This event will have an interactive and conversational structure, so come ready to share your stories and your favorite one-shot games!

Newer players are also welcome to join us!

Want to share your original or favorite one-shot?

  • Examples of non-Dungeons and Dragons rulesets and adventures are welcome, especially those available as open license games (i.e. no purchase fee).
  • To share original designs: be prepared to share relevant PDFs with library staff at the event or in advance:
    • Email: LibraryPrograms@arlingtonva.us
    • Subject Line: ONE SHOT
