Participate in a national conservation project whose aim is to protect birds from building collisions!

"Bird Collisions in the Anthropocene," stewarded by artist Holly Greenberg, is a national nonprofit conservation and community art project based in Evanston, IL. Arlington Public Library makers are invited to participate. After learning more about the bird/building collision problem, we'll use scrap fabric and other provided supplies to fashion migratory birds that we'll contribute to Greenberg's project. Greenberg hopes to collect 10,863 birds to equal the number of birds identified by the Chicago Bird Collision Monitors after they hit building glass. The birds will be sewn into a 300-foot-long "carpet" that will travel the country as an educational art installation to raise awareness of this issue.

All students must complete a Maker Waiver Agreement prior to participating in this class.

Ages 14+. Participants ages 14-17 must have an adult present or have a Maker User Agreement signed by a parent or guardian.
