Join Arlington Public library staff for a guided tour of the Virginia voting rights exhibition, "From Barriers to Ballots."

Learn about Jim Crow-era voting laws and practices and discover the work of local voting rights activists, set against the backdrop of national events in the 1960s.

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, Arlington Public Library has partnered with several community organizations to tell the stories of activists, changemakers and everyday people in Arlington and Northern Virginia who fought for voting rights. The exhibitions are on view through November 4 at Bozman Government Center, Central Library, Arlington Historical Museum, Black Heritage Museum of Arlington and Sherwood Regional and City of Fairfax Regional Libraries.
