Hearing Aids: Beware and Be Wise!
 
Learn how to find the right hearing aid for you!
Join Bonnie O'Leary, Outreach Manager and Certified Peer Mentor from the Northern Virginia Resource Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons (NVRC) for an objective presentation about hearing aids from the consumers' perspective. Bonnie O'Leary is a late-deafened adult and has been wearing hearing aids for 25 years. She will bring a personal amplifier to demo which can be useful with (or without!) hearing aids.
Included in this program will be:
- Information about types and causes of hearing loss
- Information about the hearing evaluation
- How to interpret an audiogram
- Styles and types of hearing aids
- OTC vs. prescription hearing aids and who is a candidate
- Useful apps that can be helpful.
REGISTRATION RECOMMENDED. Seating is limited and first-come, first seated.
