Join County transportation staff for a look at what we've learned from the Performance Parking Pilot Project since it began in 2023

For the last two years, County staff have used a network of 4,500 sensors embedded under metered parking spaces in the Rosslyn-Ballston and Route 1 corridors in Arlington to learn more about parking demand and pilot management techniques to make metered parking more available, more often in our commercial corridors.

At this Open House you can:

• See what we have learned about parking demand, occupancy and ways we can use this data to manage our parking spaces
• Check out some of the data visualizations we have developed with the information we've gathered
• Talk to our team about the pilot and the next steps from here
• Provide your feedback on the future of performance parking in Arlington

Location: This program will take place in the lobby outside of the auditorium.

This open house precedes an author talk at 6:30pm. Join DES Parking and Curbspace Manager Melissa McMahon in conversation with Henry Grabar, author of "Paved Paradise: How Parking Explains the World" for a revealing discussion of how parking shapes the world around us, and how we can effectively manage it.
