Crafting a standout college essay can be one of the most challenging parts of the application process, but this hands-on workshop will help students develop a personal narrative that is authentic, engaging, and designed to impress admissions officers. Whether you're starting from scratch or refining a draft, you'll gain expert guidance on finding your unique voice and transforming life experiences into a compelling story.
Please remember to bring a laptop to the program, as you’ll need it for the workshop.

In this free “Kickstart Your Essay” workshop, Mia will guide rising seniors through what makes a standout personal statement, share strategies to find your voice and story, and help you leave with a solid outline or working draft. Whether you’re staring at a blank page or unsure where to begin, this workshop is the perfect first step toward a powerful, authentic college application.
Transportation: Parking in the garage located beneath the Bozman Government Center is free on weekends and after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. We are also accessible via public transit: by Metro (Orange and Silver Lines - Courthouse) and by bus.
