Join us in welcoming local author Michael Doyle

Join us for a conversation with Michael Doyle as he discusses “Nightmare in the Pacific: The World War II Saga of Artie Shaw and his Navy Band.” Mike will recount the wartime misadventures of famed clarinet player Artie Shaw and the hard-swinging Navy band that he led on a harrowing, 68,000-mile tour through the Pacific Theater of World War II.

About the author: Arlington resident Michael Doyle is a reporter with E&E News/POLITICO and a former Supreme Court correspondent for the McClatchy newspaper chain. He is the author of three other non-fiction books: “The Forestport Breaks,” “Radical Chapters” and “The Ministers’ War.”
