Learn the basics of how to alter and repair your garments!

Join instructor Allison Lince-Bentley from Tilden House Studio as she walks you through how to tailor garments for a better fit and revive well-worn clothes through simple repairs and adjustments in this two-hour workshop with interactive demonstrations. Participants are encouraged to bring garments to receive a consultation and advice on how to handle specific situations, but will be completing the work on projects outside of the class.

Topics covered in this workshop include:

• how to measure and mark garments to shorten/lengthen them, 
• ways of hemming by machine and by hand, 
• mending techniques for rips, tears, and holes, 
• how to sew on a button or fix some types of zipper fails, 
• making alterations on existing garments,
• mixing together two or more garments to make something new.

Ages 18+.  All students must complete a Maker Waiver Agreement prior to participating in this class.

Students are strongly recommended to have participated in a Beginner Sewing class or have sewing machine experience.
