SUMMARY:Shop Workshop: Tailoring & Mending Basics
DESCRIPTION:Learn the basics of how to alter and repair your 
 garments!\n\nJoin instructor Allison Lince-Bentley from Tilden House Studio 
 as she walks you through how to tailor garments for a better fit and revive 
 well-worn clothes through simple repairs and adjustments in this two-hour 
 workshop with interactive demonstrations. Participants are encouraged to 
 bring garments to receive a consultation and advice on how to handle 
 specific situations\, but will be completing the work on projects outside 
 of the class. \n\nTopics covered in this workshop include: \n\n\n	how to 
 measure and mark garments to shorten/lengthen them\, \n	ways of hemming by 
 machine and by hand\, \n	mending techniques for rips\, tears\, and holes\, 
 \n	how to sew on a button or fix some types of zipper fails\, \n	making 
 alterations on existing garments\,\n	mixing together two or more garments 
 to make something new. \n\n\nStudents are strongly recommended to have 
 participated in a Beginner Sewing class or have sewing machine experience. 
 \n\nRegistration required: Ages 18 .  All students must complete a Maker 
 Waiver Agreement prior to participating in this class.\n\nIf you are
