About the Presenter:
Alden Michels is an actor, singer, director, educator, and dialect coach who has been a part of the DC theatre scene for over 25 years. His highly structured and practical approach to accent work has made him one of the most in-demand dialect coaches in the regional and community theatre scene. He has served as dialect coach for over 20 productions teaching over a dozen accents for professional and community houses.
As an actor, he won the 2019 WATCH (Washington Area Theatre Community Honors) award for Best Actor in a Musical and was nominated, as part of an ensemble, for a 2024 Helen Hayes award. He currently serves on the board of The Arlington Players and was a founding board member of Six Degree Singers, a community choir in Silver Spring, Maryland. Alden currently works as an instructional design manager and was previously a classroom teacher in Prince George’s County Maryland. He lives in Bethesda, MD with his wife and two cats.
