Philosophy Talk: Gadfly of Ancient Athens

This is a talk about the uneasy questions that Socrates asks and what answers he offers.
Gadflies are annoying pests-we run away from them, we swat at them, we curse them. People, too, can be annoying; we turn away from them, we ignore them. The first philosopher Socrates was just such a persistent pest. He made everyone uncomfortable with biting questions about accepted values and unthinking beliefs. What were these questions and should we be asking them today?
