Incubator Artist Reception with Sandi Parker
Local Artist Sandi Parker will discuss her work, process and inspiration
The Incubator at Arlington Public Library invites you to join us for an artist talk by local artist Sandi Parker as she discusses her collection, Seasons in Art: A Journey Through Nature's Palette. Her exhibit will be on view at Shirlington Library from September through December 2024.
Light refreshments will be served.
Artist Statement: I love stretching and experimenting, learning new techniques and painting in a variety of materials and styles. I paint acrylic abstracts that are textured color studies (frequently with inspirational quotes), but my first love will always be traditional oils and pastels. Using vibrant colors, I paint landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes (all the 'scapes!), florals, and youth sports portraits. I love painting scenes from all four seasons, especially in colors both vibrant and subtle and am thrilled to present "Seasons in Art" at Shirlington Library.
Artist Biography: Arlington, Virginia artist Sandi Parker has been painting for the past 25 years. She is a longtime active member and Board member of the Arlington Arts Alliance, and ran the Alliance's gallery, Gallery Underground in Crystal City, from its inception in 2013 until her retirement in 2021. She is a frequest exhbiting member of Falls Church Arts and the Rehoboth Art League in Rehoboth, Delaware, and takes frequent classes both in person (Arlington Adult Education) and online.
