Help Arlington support those living with dementia

Dementia Friendly Arlington works within the community to improve the way we interact with those displaying signs related to dementia. Dementia Friendly Arlington envisions our community as a place where people living with dementia and their care partners will be able to engage in a variety of activities, be supported in the highest quality of life, and can live independently for as long as possible.

This training focuses on being able to describe dementia, identify the most common types of dementia, state the five key messages about dementia, explain one approach to effectively communicate with a person with dementia, and commit to an action as a Dementia Friend in your community. All participants will be awarded a “Dementia Friend” certificate at the end of the program.
