Courthouse Songwriters Group

Meet fellow musicians and discuss songwriting!
Are you a new or experienced songwriter looking for inspiration and community? Courthouse Songwriters Group meets once a month to discuss the craft of songwriting, create new songs based on new concepts and prompts, and share our work in a supportive environment. Participants can be new or experienced songwriters and should have basic familiarity with at least one instrument. Bring a notebook and pen.
For our first meeting, we will discuss songwriting, introduce a new concept and prompt, and have a free-writing activity. We will explore presence and curiosity and share our songs in September based on this prompt. The prompt is optional and participants are welcome to share work unrelated to the prompt.
- Aug. 13: Presence and Curiosity
- Sept. 10: Expression and Experimentation
- Oct. 8: Breaking Rules and Imposing Limitations
- Nov.12: Memory and Subconscious
- Dec. 9: Phrasing
