Documentary Screening and Panel Discussion: "Cured"

In Celebration of National Coming Out Day and LGBTQ+ History Month
Join the library for a screening and discussion of the award-winning documentary "Cured" (2020), which recounts a pivotal yet largely unknown chapter in the struggle for LGBTQ+ equality: the campaign that led the American Psychiatric Association to remove the diagnosis of homosexuality from its manual of mental illnesses in 1973. Following the screening, Arlingtonian and legislator Jay Fisette will moderate a discussion and audience Q&A featuring the film's Emmy-nominated directors Patrick Sammon and Bennett Singer.
