We look forward to seeing you all online!

We are all looking to improve our health or remedy what ails us. Promoters are all too eager to satisfy the urge to find a silver bullet. This can make us all prone to buying and consuming unproven or even harmful products. It is often difficult and time-consuming to find objective information to understand the risks and benefits of exoteric products accompanied by slick promotion campaigns. On the other hand, there are ways to improve our health. Reliance on quick-fix products can distract us from beneficial health practices and products. "Dr. Joe" will provide a science-based perspective on matters of health - what works and what doesn't work and more importantly how to better assess the many claims proffered on TV and the internet.

Dr. Joe Schwarcz is Director of McGill University’s “Office for Science and Society” which has the mission of separating sense from nonsense. Professor Schwarcz has received numerous awards for teaching chemistry and for interpreting science for the public. He hosts "The Dr. Joe Show" on Montreal's CJAD and has appeared hundreds of times on The Discovery Channel, CTV, and CBC. He also writes a newspaper column entitled “The Right Chemistry”, produces a weekly podcast, and has authored 18 books. His latest book is Superfoods, Silkworms, and Spandex: Science and Pseudoscience in Everyday Life.
