Join internationally acclaimed artist and climate activist Monica Jahan Bose for multimedia storytelling and artmaking.

Monica will show videos, images and share stories about climate impacts in coastal Bangladesh and the resilience of these communities in the face of losing crops, land, and intangible heritage. At the end of the talk, attendees will be invited to participate in a "call to action" climate activity whereby they will write how they pledge to help mitigate global warming on a sari presented by the artist.  Then, as a final culmination of an eight-week project with the Arlington Art Truck, participate in a short procession, carrying the community-created saris together down the street to Jennie Dean Park.

Climate Hope is part of the project Storytelling with Saris  by Monica Jahan Bose. "Storytelling with Saris" connects people around the world through art with action steps to address climate change in solidarity with women farmers from the artist’s ancestral village on Barobaishdia Island, Patuakhali District, Bangladesh.
