Join our community of crafters as we create budget-savvy and eco-friendly projects!

Each month we will make a craft with sustainability in mind. We'll transform materials into fun crafts that are as practical as they are charming. Shibori is a Japanese dyeing technique that involves folding, twisting or bunching cloth and binding it, then dyeing it in indigo. Whatever is used to bind the fabric will resist the dye, resulting in areas of the cloth that take the distinctive blue dye in patterns created by the resistance, and other areas of the cloth that remain white. Everyone will receive one flour sack dish towel to dye and latex free gloves to protect your hands. Each person is encouraged to bring in a cotton white t-shirt, onesie, or towel to dye at the end. All other materials will be provided. Please wear dark or old clothing that you do not mind getting stained.
