Documentary Screening: "Beyond Stonewall" and Filmmaker Q&A
Celebrate Pride Month with a screening of “Beyond Stonewall”!
The 1969 Stonewall Inn Uprising is celebrated by many as the birth of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. But the history of gay life in America extends far before and after Stonewall - spanning over 150 years. Join us for a unique perspective on that pivotal moment with “Smithsonian Time Capsule:Beyond Stonewall,” the 2019 documentary that tells the story of the LGBTQ+ community in America through an exploration of rare artifacts in the Smithsonian collections.
The film screening will be followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Alan Martin.
RSVP for an event reminder. Free; recommended for adults 18+.
