Join The Shop at Arlington Public Library, the Arlington Art Truck, guest artist Chris Combs, and Bike Arlington for an afternoon of sustainable art activities.

Recyle: Craft Swap at Central Library: 

Browse our collection of donated craft supplies and take what you need.

Donate your art supplies at The Shop between July 13 – July 19. The Shop's open hours are:

  • Tuesday - Wednesday: 12 pm - 5 pm
  • Thursday: 12 pm - 8 pm
  • Friday: 12 pm - 5 pm
  • Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm
  • Sunday - Monday : CLOSED

 

 

 

Supplies must be in good and usable condition and organized by the following categories: 

  • Art Supplies (Drawing and Painting materials; Paper; Easels; Pencil Sharpeners)
  • Textiles (Yarn; Sewing Thread; Sewing Supplies; Embroidery thread; Embroidery; Fabric scraps - no smaller than 1/2 yard; Pre-cut quilting squares; Quilting & garment patterns)
  • Wood (Scraps Up to 1” thick, 18x24” max dimensions; Tape measures; Hand tools; Wood burning tools)
  • Crafts Supplies (Beads / Jewelry; Scrapbooking; Washi Tape; Stickers; Glue guns; Heat guns)
  • Please note that we do NOT accept: Furniture; Leaking or punctured containers; Dried out materials (please test items like markers, pens, and glue before donating); Used power tools or sewing machines; Books (please donate to FOAL)

Upcycle: Guest Artist Chris Combs' Reinvention Garage e-waste art exhibition with the Arlington Art Truck:

  • View Chris Combs' exhibit and engage with the artist
  • weather permitting, find him on the garden plaza

Bicycle: Join BikeArlington on a bike ride around the area to view selected works from Arlington's Public Art collection

  • The ride will start and end at Central Library
  • Bike ride route
  • RSVP for an Eventbrite reminder email 
  • Meeting point: Central Library - by the Arlington Art Truck that will be parked in the large surface parking lot at rear (east side) of Library
  • In the case of inclement weather, the ride will be canceled

Find Your Voice with Summer Reading! Summer Reading is made possible through the support of the Friends of Arlington Public Library. For each person that completes the 2023 Summer Reading Challenge, the Friends of the Arlington Public Library will donate $1 to support Educational Theatre Company.
