Learn the process of woodworking with local Arlington artist Jeff Spugnardi.

Jeff Spugnardi has won several design awards, and enjoys building chairs, tables, and more in his local studio. He incorporates futuristic details such as carbon fiber accented with natural live-edge furniture to make future primitive furniture. He will discuss his entire process - from wood selection to sales, marketing, social media, and more. He will invite you to have a rock in his exhibited rocking chair.

Artist statement: Veteran-made craftsmanship in Virginia. Every piece of furniture I make is born from sustainable East Coast hardwoods. You can be as involved as you would like in the furniture making process – from picking out slabs at the kiln to watching the build process. I combine futuristic carbon fiber to accent the timeless warmth of classic hardwoods such as cherry, maple, and walnut to make beautiful furniture. This is Future Primitive woodworking. I build chairs, tables, chests, and more. My furniture is authentic. I let the wood dictate the outcome with live edges, irregular wood pattern curls, checks, and other one-of-a-kind natural traits. My furniture is functional. Please sit in one of my chairs. I combine classical and modern woodworking techniques to ensure lifetimes of form and function in these pieces. https://www.instagram.com/jeffspugnardi/, and https://www.etsy.com/shop/SpugnardiFurniture
