Power in the Public: The Life and Legacy of Elizabeth Campbell

Elizabeth Campbell was deeply entrenched in Arlington. She was the only woman elected when the county adopted an elected school board, she started one of the earliest cooperative pre-schools in the area, and she became president of the Greater Washington Educational Telecommunications Association (GWETA) during its founding.

The Campbell family has donated Campbell's desk to Arlington Public Library, which has prepared an educational exhibit about her contributions to the Arlington community. WETA, Arlington Public Library and the Center for Local History will be together for this all-ages event. Guest speakers will introduce the exhibit, and the Library will provide a children's craft and light refreshments.
