Exploring World War 1 in Film
Mathilde is waiting desperately for her fiance to return from the war. When bad news arrives she refuses to believe he is dead. Instead, she begins her own investigation into his infantry, hiring a private detective and piecing together his war stories.
The program will begin at 6 p.m. with an introduction to the film by J. Brinton Rowdybush. Mr. Rowdybush holds a doctorate in political science from U.C.Berkeley, and retired from the State Department after more than 20 years as a Foreign Service Officer.

During the World War I Film Series we will be collecting donations of toiletries for hospitalized veterans (travel and regular sized) such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, shaving cream, razors, lotions, toothpaste, floss, toothbrushes, mouthwash, personal hygiene items, etc.
