"The Secret History of Jane Eyre" by John Pfordresher

How Charlotte Bronte Wrote Her Masterpiece

Why did Charlotte Bronte go to such great lengths on the publication of her acclaimed, best-selling novel to conceal its authorship from her family, close friends, and the press?

Georgetown University Professor of English John C. Pfordresher, author of "The Secret History of Jane Eyre," explores these questions through an investigation into the relationship between the novel's heroine and its author, a link Bronte denied but which in complex ways emerges in virtually every aspect of the book.

Books will be available for sale and signing after the event.
