Learn what to do to retrofit an old home, and what to look for if building a new home, so your home costs neither you nor the environment unnecessary expenses. Building codes are rules for the minimum standards in construction, so even a new home built to code can still be an energy sieve if it’s not built with energy efficiency in mind.
