Presented in honor of the 50th anniversary of Gulf Branch Nature Center, Arlington's first facility dedicated to the study and conservation of nature.

The symposium will feature a history of Gulf Branch Nature Center, an overview of the role of nature centers in Arlington's parks, the future efforts and challenges that come with creating and protecting park land in an urbanized environment, and much more.

Presenters include:

  • Jane Rudolph, Director, Arlington County Department of Parks and Recreation
  • Peter Harnik, Director, Center for City Park Excellence, The Trust for Public Land
